In 2017, I closed the book on an inspiring but stressful 20-year career to start my own company.

I was a bilingual MBA who had traveled the globe. I had worked for one of the world’s most well-known business schools and led a non-profit organization. I was doing all the right things, following the right path, and now I was walking away from this incredible career to… “clean closets?”

YES, MA’AM.

Because even though I appeared “successful” on the outside, in reality I was stressed, frazzled, and on the verge of MAJOR burn-out. I was drowning in shoulds.

So I left it all behind and went on a new mission.  A mission to help exhausted and burnt-out people (like me!) get their sanity back at home and work. I got certified in the KonMari Method® and have since helped thousands of women through one-on-support and teaching.

As a professional organizer, I was focused on helping folks declutter their stuff. But I learned something I wasn’t expecting.

It was never about the stuff. It was about relationships, grief, parenting, careers, body image, and so much more.

My clients were battling the “shoulds” and were exhausted. I supported them and gave them permission to finally let go of what wasn’t serving them.

I have seen, first-hand, what can happen when people start quieting the noisy shoulds of our society and instead start listening to their own inner voices.

By saying goodbye to my own shoulds, I found a life full of energy, passion, and purpose.

Now I’m helping thousands of other people do the same.

Quit the Shoulds: Using the 5-Step FOCUS Method to Live a Happier, More Inspired Life

It’s easy to listen to a motivational speaker say things like “Trust yourself!” “Be yourself!” “Shut out those inner voices!” You feel that warm, inspired conference glow, ready to conquer the world! And then … real life sets in, and the glow starts to fade. This workshop is all about keeping that glow GOING. Together, we’re going to explore specifically WHAT shoulds you are holding onto, HOW you can begin to let go of them, and HOW you give that teeny tiny voice (you!) more air time.

After this workshop, you'll be able to:

  • Do a brain dump of all of those pesky responsibilities, tasks, etc., that you have swirling in your head

  • Identify which of those things genuinely light you up and which feel like things you “should” like or do

  • Make a plan for systematically deciding what gets your precious time and attention and what doesn’t, using the 5-Step FOCUS Method

  • Say “no” easily and comfortably to those things that don’t light you up
